Governor Pawlenty offers up his solution to Minnesota’s budget problems should the state not receive $536 Million from the Federal government. His proposal is to pass the budget cuts that even his Republican colleagues voted against and drain a trust fund the state maintains for iron range economic development.
These are the details of the Governor’s proposal:
Remaining reductions from the Governor’s budget proposed in February: $405 million ·
Additional local government aid program reductions: $30 million ·
Use of remaining Douglas J. Johnson Trust Fund: $65 million ·
Additional health and human services program reductions: $36 Million
