Minnesota lawmakers have passed a bill ending discrimination against same sex couples when it comes to disposing of a body. The proposed law recognizes the right of a same sex partner to have a say in the burial of his or her loved one. Republicans argued against the bill calling it “divisive”, something Assistant Majority Leader Steve Simon called “so 2005″. After the bill passed 78 to 55, Representative Karen Clark talked about why passage of the bill was personally so important to her. The bill now goes to Governor Tim Pawlenty.
