Emmer notable by absence as all other MN Governor candidates debate homelessness

Republican Tom Emmer was the only party endorsed candidate for Minnesota Governor to skip last night’s debate about homelessness in Minnesota. The two hour debate sponsored by the Joint Religious Legislative Coalition was a lively substantial discussion of housing, jobs and healthcare.

Emmer Press Secretary Chris Van Guilder said Representative Emmer was attending the GOP endorsing convention for the seat he held in the Minnesota House and then had other campaign events to attend.

Debating were:

Mark Dayton (DFL), Margaret Anderson Kelliher (DFL Endorsed), Matt Entenza (DFL), Rob Hahn (IP), Tom Horner (IP Endorsed), John Uldrich (IP), Leslie Davis (Republican), Bob Carney, Jr. (Republican).

During the debate, Davis announced he would name his Lt. Governor pick on Tuesday at 2pm. Carney announced he plans to challenge the laws passed in the Minnesota legislative special session saying the constitution does not allow laws to be passed on that day.
