Hmong Community Gathers to Discuss Equity Issues

The Hmong Community gathered this past weekend at the Hmong American Alliance Church to discuss important issues within their community. Issues included the veteran’s benefits, funeral prices, and the 2010 campaign season. ChuPeng Lee, a Hmong Organizing Project leader and President of the Hmong Diaspora Council, speaks in this clip.

Gubernatorial candidate Margaret Anderson Kelliher speaks at the same Hmong Organizing Project , a forum for the Hmong community to gather and discuss equity issues.  It focused on veteran’s benefits, funeral costs, the Minneapolis police force, and the 2010 campaign season.

Executive Director of Take Action-Minnesota Dan McGrath speaks: Minneapolis city council member John Quincy took some time Saturday morning to discuss issues within the Minneapolis police force important to the Hmong community. Issues included the controversial metro gang strike force and the award process for police medals.
