South Padre Island Braces For Hurricane Alex


Hurricane flags are flying in the wind and rain on South Padre Island, Texas as hurricane Alex takes aim at the Texas coast. The storm warning flags fly at the U.S. Coast Guard Station in South Padre Island to warn mariners that hurricane conditions are present in the area June 30, 2010. Storm flags, also known as the coastal warning display program, were re-established at Coast Guard stations in May, 2007. U.S. Coast Guard video by Petty Officer 3rd class Tom Atkeson.
