He agrees with Senator Dave Senjem (R) that giving loans to people is like “throwing gas on a fire” since their businesses were wiped out and they are already mired in debt. Murphy points out that places such as southern Florida and New Orleans get Federal assistance when disasters strike, but that isn’t the case for small Minnesota towns.
