Bipartisan Agreement For Wisconsin Football Team By Michael McIntee | December 17, 2010 LikeTweet EmailPrint More More on DC Subscribe to DC Follow this author A resolution praising the Wisconsin Badger Football Team is read on the House Floor Democrats and Republicans may fight bitterly over taxes, but there was no argument today in praising the University of Wisconsin Badger football team. Not only did the Badger team rack up an 11-1 record and a Rose Bowl bid for New Year’s Day, but the squad also placed 22 players on the Academic All-Big Ten team, surpassing the previous record of 19 set in 2007, Coach Bret Bielema’s second season. Representative Phil Roe (R ) of Tennessee offered congratulations but with a caveat. “It’s difficult for me to be here because they destroyed my small school year, Austin Peay, but we do appreciate the large check you sent us.” House Resolution 167 sponsored by Wisconsin Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin (D) got the approval of the sparse crowd on the House floor, but could not be passed because a quorum of Representatives were not present.
