Governor Mark Dayton Delivers The State of The State Address

We’re back to politics as usual at the Minnesota State Capitol, where you can watch our live coverage from the State House and Senate today. Yesterday, The UpTake unleashed an entire team of editors, volunteers and interns to bring you coverage of Governor Mark Dayton’s first State of the State address — including demonstrations outside the House Chamber — and both responses from the GOP and from DFLers Tom Bakk and Paul Thissen to the Governor’s address. By the way, that was Mark Dayton speaking, not Secretary of State Mark Ritchie, which was how the Chief Sergeant-at-Arms accidentally introduced Dayton prior to the State of the State. We stayed late last night in the Capitol to broadcast the marathon ethics hearings against Sen. Scott Newman, who was ultimately vindicated by his peers shortly after 8 p.m. The UpTake was the only source for the public to watch Newman on trial, and more than 50 of you stayed with us all evening.
