Wisconsin State Capitol an Invite-Only Destination

A friend of The UpTake who shot this video outside the Wisconsin State Capitol this afternoon wrote the following words about her attempt to enter around the time that Governor Scott Walker was unveiling his budget:

“I was prevented from entering the Capitol to watch the governor’s budget address by a line 20 police officers blocking the doors. I was informed that I needed a “ticket” in order to get into the building; each legislative office received a maximum of 9 tickets, maybe less. There are rumors (not yet substantiated) that supporters of Governor Walker were ushered into the capitol via underground tunnel so that they could sit in the front rows of the gallery during his budget address and clap politely during his speech. This happens in China, North Korea, it happened in the former Soviet Union — government plants being used to create political propaganda. But in Wisconsin? I can only hope that we have not sunk so low.”
