Former Minnesota Governor Arne Carlson will address and lead a discussion with faith and health care community members about Minnesota’s long-held commitment to access and quality health care for low-income working Minnesotans. The forum, titled MinnesotaCare — A Minnesota Solution That Works, will focus on the policies that have made Minnesota a national leader in health and health care as well as exploring the consequences of budget proposals that would dismantle MinnesotaCare.

MinnesotaCare — a Minnesota-created health insurance program that pays for medical services for adults and children in Minnesota who lack other affordable health insurance and who have not traditionally qualified for Medical Assistance — was crafted when former Governor Carlson was in office. The discussion will be hosted by the Isaiah Group, the Minnesota Hospital Association and other interested groups. The discussion will be held tonight at 7 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Saint Paul.
