Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton took a trio of Republican legislative leaders fishing this morning, hoping to land a walleye and perhaps a solution to the state budget deficit. Governor Dayton had indicated he would be talking budget with House Speakers Kurt Zellers, House Majority Leader Matt Dean and Representative Joe Hoppe.

This morning Governor Dayton was among the first in Minnesota to fish, casting his line on Pokegama Lake at 12:01am.

Joining Governor Dayton in his boat was his fishing host, Grand Rapids fisherman Scott Glorvigen and Army National Guard Specialist Dennis Coan. Specialist Coan, a native of Tower, MN, was deployed to Afghanistan from June, 2009 to June, 2010 as part of the 114th Transportation Company.
