Senator Warren Limmer is one of 6 GOP legislators filing the case with the Minnesota Supreme Court

Six Republican legislators are asking Minnesota’s Supreme Court to put an end to court ordered spending during the state government shutdown. The request called a “Writ of Quo Warranto” basically asks the court to prove Ramsey County District Court Judge Kathleen Gearin had the right to issue an order that approves spending for core government services while the Governor and Republican legislative leaders cannot agree on a budget solution.

The Senators filing the 61 page petition with the Supreme Court are State Senators Warren Limmer, Scott Newman, Sean Nienow and Representatives Roger Chamberlain and Ernest Leidiger
