There is a bipartisan agreement on a stadium deal, Rep. Joe Atkins (DFL-Inver Grove Heights) told the Minnesota State House. But the deal was for nothing more than allowing beer sales at TCF stadium. Representative Leon Lillie (DFL-North St. Paul) hoped that if the University of Minnesota Gopher football team gets better, fans won’t need the beer. Representative Phyllis Kahn (DFL-Minneapolis) reminded lawmakers that beer at football games will mean more enforcement on the streets outside the stadium that run through her district, and she hoped that some of the money from the beer sales would be used for the police officers.
