At a recent rally to protest General Mills’ decision to come out against the ant-gay marriage amendment, Vice President of Corporate Communications Thomas Forsythe attempted to break some common ground by donating two coolers of water and coffee to over-heated and under-caffeinated demonstrators.

Minnesota for Marriage was accepting donations of General Mills products to be given to a local food shelf-it was part of their “Dump General Mills” efforts. When Forsythe offered coffee and water, former Michele Bachmann staffer Andy Parrish directed the carafes into the donation van. Forsythe’s response to the rebuke, “You’re trying to play media here.”

Forsythe declined to answer reporters questions about whether or not the company spoke for all its employees when it came out against the Marriage Amendment.
