As Tropical storm Isaac takes aim at the Louisiana and other gulf states, President Obama reminds people if they are told to evacuate to take it seriously and leave. Obama says at his order FEMA has been on the ground preparing for the storm for the last week. He has also prepared a disaster declaration for the state of Louisiana in case it is needed.

Isaac, which is expected to become a Hurricane, threatens to upstage the National Republican Convention. Presumptive Republican Presidential nominee Mitt Romney could face sharing airtime with the storm which is expected to come ashore in Louisiana during the convention which is in Tampa, Florida.

About The UpTake

The UpTake is an independent, nonprofit (501 c 3) online news organization that began its work in 2007 with a few simple ideas: That media should find and tell the truth without fear or favor; that citizens have the tools to report and explain events without relying on news controlled by large corporations; and that it is the duty of citizens to hold power accountable and to make government transparent to the governed.
