Tonight at Northrop Plaza on the University of Minnesota campus, the Minnesotans United for all Families campaign held a “get-out-the-vote” rally to defeat the marriage-restriction constitutional amendment on next Tuesday’s election ballot.
The rally featured Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton, Senators Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken, Congressman Keith Ellison, State Senator Scott Dibble, Vikings Punter Chris Kluwe and others. Minnesotans United says that “this amendment would permanently limit a basic freedom — the freedom to marry — for some Minnesotans just because of who they are, and it would tie the hands of future generations to decide for themselves what marriage means and who should have the freedom to participate in it.”
