Senator Al Franken talks with The UpTake’s Mike McIntee about his early election night victory over Republican Mike McFadden and how that is so different than is win over Norm Coleman in 2008 that took a eight month recount and election contest to settle.

“It was a very different experience this time”, said a smiling Franken. “It’s kind of night and day because we didn’t really know for at least a couple of months when I won the recount that I had won. And of course the court case went forever. So this is very, very different.”

What’s also different for Franken is his party will be in the minority. “I’ll have a lot of new colleagues”, said Franken. “But I’ve already got a couple calls from Republican colleagues who said ‘let’s work together.’”
