Romney Trying To Make “Lemonade Out Of Turds” Says Reporter Who Published Video

The reporter who helped bring national attention to video of Presidential candidate Mitt Romney dismissing 47 percent of the electorate says Romney is now trying to make “lemonade out of turds” with his explanation of what he meant. Mother Jone’s reporter David Corn appeared on Democracy Now this morning to talk about how a grandson of former President Jimmy Carter helped him find the video, but then talked about how Romney has handled the uproar the video has caused. Romney told a Univision town hall Wednesday night that “so many people have fallen into poverty that they’re not paying taxes.” Which is only partially true since most people in poverty are still paying sales taxes and many of them are paying property taxes. DFL Candidates Vie To Replace Vulnerable MN GOP Congressman

8th CD DFL candidates Tarryl Clark, Jeff Anderson and Rick Nolan

Minnesota’s Eighth Congressional District race is already rated a toss up by the Cook Report, even though Democrats have not picked which candidate is going to face first-term Republican Chip Cravaack. That process of endorsing a candidate begins this Tuesday at Minnesota’s precinct caucuses. So with less than a few days to make their decision, it’s no wonder that 75 people recently fought their way through a snowstorm in Northeastern Minnesota to hear three of the Democratic Farmer Labor Party (DFL) candidates who would like to replace Representative Cravaack.
