Governor-Elect Mark Dayton has promised to sign-up Minnesota for the Federal Early Medical Assistance program as soon as he is sworn into office. Eventually that will mean lower costs for the state, but initially that may have an negative impact on the state’s budget.  Today the Legislative Commission on Planning and Fiscal Policy – Subcommittee on a Balanced Budget considers what that and the latest economic forecast numbers mean for the state’s projected multi-billion dollar deficit.
