It’s not often that Minnesota has an open congressional seat. Rarer yet does it happen in a swing district where Democrats and Republicans stand about an even chance of getting elected. But that’s exactly the case in Minnesota’s second congressional district, where Rep. John Kline has decided not to seek another term.
The five Republican candidates who would like to replace Kline will debated Thursday in Hastings and you can watch the replay of it from the comfort of your computer screen on The UpTake.
Debating are former talk show host Jason Lewis, former state Senator John Howe, David Gerson (who ran against Kline two years ago), Darlene Miller and Gene Rechtzigel. One of these candidates will run against the presumptive DFL candidate Angie Craig in the general election.
