Retreating under a barrage of complaints from business groups, Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton has removed changes in the state’s sales tax from his budget. That means there will be no property tax rebate to homeowners or a drop in the general sales tax rate. However, Dayton still wants to raise $1.8 billion in new revenue to erase a state deficit and fund education and other programs he says are priorities. He unveiled the details of his revised budget this morning.
