Replay: PolyMet Mining Environmental Hearing

A hearing on the controversial PolyMet copper-nickel mining plan proposed for northern Minnesota drew a large crowd of opponents and supporters in the Twin Cities Jan. 28. A room that can seat 1,900 people was jammed at the RiverCentre in St. Paul for the hearing, which started at 6:45 p.m. and lasted for several hours.   1. These guys are trying to get permission to pollute the largest fresh watershed left on earth. This is the hearing to trail-balloon the project with the public. Notice the union, chamber of commerce and mining interests in the suits ceding their time to business people who have no track record of dealing with chemical toxification of the watershed. They must be stopped.
