The type of gambling that could provide about $16 million for a new Vikings stadium is legal in Minnesota says a gambling lobbyist. King Wilson of Allied Charities tells a House Commerce committee that Governor Mark Dayton is wrong when he says it is illegal under federal law because tip boards are not “sports bookmaking” since it doesn’t matter which team wins.
It was the first vote of the legislative session on a Vikings stadium bill and it passed the committee and now goes to the House rules committee.
