Politics Over Emergency Spending Bill Escalates- Dayton Threatens Veto

Senator Richard Cohen (DFL- St. Paul) says he is disappointed in House Republicans for trying to politicize a deficiency funding bill that is aimed at dealing with unanticipated emergencies such as extra spending by the Department of Health to battle Ebola. However, Cohen and other Senators today amended the bill in a way that has Governor Dayton threatening a veto.

Senate Finance Backs Additonal Funds For MN Zoo

Bad weather and rising costs have left Minnesota’s Zoo facing a $1.5 million deficit. Governor Dayton recommends the legislature help with the funding gap and the Senate Finance Committee on Monday night agreed with him approving a deficiency funding bill on a voice vote.
