Clark:Michele Bachmann not fighting for Minnesotans

Clark encouraged activism through door knocking and online, saying that small active donors can outperform large donors.

Bachmann’s opponent, Democrat Tarryl Clark wants to return the district to its Minnesota roots. Speaking at Netroots, she told us that Bachmanns pursuit of her own agenda hasnt helped create jobs. That people in the Sixth District are fearful, but not about Tea Party issues: theyre fearful of losing their jobs, not being able to afford college for their kids, not having effective infrastructure for transportation.

Ari Melber, national political correspondent for The Nation, created the word Breitbarted, or taking a video clip out of context to destroy another person. Right-wing blogger Andrew Breitbart used this practice in taking a fragment of Shirley Sherrods speech to make it appear she didn’t help a white farmer because of race. Investigative journalist Amy Goodman spoke to The UpTake at Netroots. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and President Barack Obama, both the objects of her harsh assessment. Reids numbers, Goodman said, are as low as Las Vegass unemployment is high. And his unwillingness to adopt climate change legislation transcends policy to be a matter of survival. ;
She pointed out that President Obama was elected on an antiwar platform, but voters didnt hear the second part of what he said about Afghanistan.
