On Tuesday voters in the Hibbing, Minnesota area will elect someone to fill out the term of Representative Tony Sertich who Governor Mark Dayton appointed to head the Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation Board. As with any special election the campaign season has been short and intense. Representative Erin Murphy was in the area this weekend campaigning for fellow DFLer Carly Melin. Murphy says House Majority Leader Matt Dean brought the Republican candidate for the seat to Melin’s headquarters on Saturday, which Murphy says “we thought was just a little cheeky.” So Murphy is planning some light-hearted payback. “When she (Melin) wins her seat on the Tuesday election we’re going to make sure and bring her right up to Matt Dean’s office to say ‘hey'”.
