The “Wisconsin 14” Senate Democrats returned to Madison this weekend after over three weeks hiding across the state line in Illinois to avoid giving Gov. Scott Walker a quorum to pass his anti-collective bargaining legislation. Thirteen of those 14 held a press conference at Monona Terrace Saturday before appearing, to thunderous applause, at the massive rally on Capitol Square. Pro-worker activists have heralded the “Wisconsin 14” for slowing down the legislative process and allowing Walker’s right-wing agenda to be debated and analyzed inside the State Senate and Assembly, all across Madison and the nation.
