Chris Hedges: FBI is the Jackboots Enforcer

Print More

After speaking at Macalester College on Wednesday night, award-winning journalist Chris Hedges was asked about the FBI’s role in the recent targeting of peace activists in the Twin Cities and elsewhere in the Midwest. Nine had their homes searched and were issued subpoenas to appear before a Grand Jury in Chicago. Hedges offered a pessimistic view that the FBI is merely the “jackboot” extension of the ongoing attack on civil liberties. He was also asked about the role of citizen journalists. He’d previously stated, “All journalists should belong to a union and be well-paid.” He sees serious issues with the current state of journalism.
