Minnesota’s Supreme Court has agreed to hear a case brought by six Minnesota Republican legislators asking that court ordered state spending stop while Minnesota’s government does not have a budget agreement.

The lawsuit filed by State Senators Warren Limmer, Scott J. Newman, Sean R. Nienow, and Roger C. Chamberlain and State Representatives Glenn H. Gruenhagen and Ernest G. Leidinger claims the courts have no standing to order spending to keep Minnesota’s “core services” running.

Argument will be heard on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, at 10:00 a.m., in Courtroom 300, Minnesota Judicial Center
