A Wake For The Middle Class Marches To The Vikings Dome

The middle class is dead, murdered by greedy members of the 1% of America that control most of the country’s wealth. That was the message behind “A Wake for the Middle Class” protest and rally at The People’s Plaza, also known as the Hennepin Country Government Center

The march circling the plaza several times and then off to the Vikings Dome where the crowd for Sunday’s game was arriving. The rally was organized by the local council of MoveOn.org in cooperation with OccupyMN.

In case you’re wondering, people in the video are wearing pig noses to “honor” the greed of the 1%.

While the middle class certainly isn’t dead, march participants said the it is being killed by the greed of the upper 1% thus strangling growth and killing needed services.

As has been the case with many organized rallies at the plaza, this action attracted a lot of first-timers to OccupyMN headquarters and it produced one of the largest MoveOn groups for some time. There seems to be a growing synergy between specific action groups and the OccupyMN movement. At least one of the marchers came from the group that is spending the night on the lawn south of the government building.
