Minnesota Zoo Director Lee Ehmke waived a chunk of a liner from the dolphin pool as evidence the legislature should support his $20 million funding request.

$15 million would go towards repairs and “asset preservation.”

Some buildings at the zoo are nearly 40 years old. The liner in the dolphin tank is 15 years old and nearing the end of its useful life, which is why chunks of it are coming off.
