Michele Bachmann wins re-election in a very close election

In the end, Representative Michele Bachmann still won, but it was her narrowest victory in all the times she has run for congress.

Democrat Jim Graves fell a few thousand votes of unseating Bachmann.

As the race went past midnight, it appeared Graves had a chance of winning. Ken Martin, the Chair of Minnesota’s Democratic party predicted victory saying the remaining precincts to be counted are expected to favor Graves.

Martin’s prediction did not hold true. Graves conceded the race on Wednesday morning after Bachmann’s winning margin was outside of what’s required to trigger an automatic recount.
