Minnesota Senate Majority Leader Tom Bakk tells reporters that Republican leaders should “cool your jets a little bit” and not crow about how good of a job they did the last two years. Bakk says if the Republicans had done such a great job they wouldn’t have lost control of both the Minnesota House and Senate.

Senate Minority Leader David Hann responds by saying that the Minnesota’s budget is recovering without any tax increases. However the state does face a billion dollar shortfall in the coming biennium.

The comments came as DFL House and Senate leaders held a news conference to highlight their “vision” for the 2013 legislative session that began Tuesday.
