Finally: Wonder Woman Gets “Framed” By Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges By The UpTake | April 10, 2014 LikeTweet EmailPrint More More on Minneapolis Subscribe to Minneapolis Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges Fulfills Election Pledge By Posting her Copy of Ms. Magazine's First Issue -- portraying Wonder Woman and autographed by Ms. founder Gloria Steinem, on her office wall. It took a bit more than three months, but Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges finally delivered on her promise to The UpTake to put Wonder Woman on her office wall. Hodges told The UpTake last fall, during her successful campaign for mayor, that the first thing she planned to do if she won election was to display her prized 1972 cover of the first edition of Ms. Magazine, autographed by Ms. co-founder Gloria Steinem. It wasn’t as easy as Hodges hoped: Strict rules about putting objects on the walls in the mayor’s third floor City Hall office — plus delays in decisions about how her office should be decorated — meant that Wonder Woman did not go up until April 10. The photos were tweeted earlier today by Hodges’ office. See The UpTake’s original story about Hodge’s Wonder Woman pledge by clicking here. Support this story and all the stories from The Uptake.
