Two different groups Thursday called on the state of Minnesota to restore voting rights to felons.

The Restore The Vote Coalition promotes a bi-partisan bill restoring the vote to “Minnesota citizens who are not incarcerated, but unable to vote due to a felony conviction.”

A group of clergy from many different faiths back the same idea, but also call for legislation allowing immigrants to apply for Minnesota driver’s licenses using documentation from their home countries and other measures “that promote racial equality and dignity.”
