Former MN Gov Carlson Discusses Consequences of Budget Proposals

Former Minnesota Governor Arne Carlson will address and lead a discussion with faith and health care community members about Minnesota’s long-held commitment to access and quality health care for low-income working Minnesotans. The forum, titled MinnesotaCare — A Minnesota Solution That Works, will focus on the policies that have made Minnesota a national leader in health care.

President Obama tells returning US troops that Osama bin Laden will never threaten the US again. He says he met with the special ops team that killed bin Laden and told them “job well done.”

St Catherine University Holds Food Justice Panel

St. Catherine University will host a panel on Food Justice today at 4:30 p.m. Nancy Heitzig, Sr. Amata Miller, Joshua Haringa and others will speak about hunger issues and under-nourishment in the United States. The discussion is presented by the school’s Communications Department and Campus Ministry in collaboration with the Food Fast.

Afghan Activist Malalai Joya Speaks in Minneapolis

Afghan activist, writer and a former politician, Malalai Joya will speak tonight at St. Joan of Arc church in Minneapolis. She was dismissed from the Afghan parliament for publicly denouncing the presence of what she considered to be warlords and war criminals in the Afghan parliament.
