Bachmann On Spitting, N-Word “No One Saw It”

Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann tells a crowd gathered outside of a boxing ring in Duluth that you can’t believe the stories about Tea Party people spitting and hurling the “N-word” at black Democratic Congressional members because no one has it on video tape. Since she made her statement on Sunday, video tape evidence has appeared in the internet. Transcript:
And as a matter of fact they were smeared by the Democrats this week.  You may have heard that.  Where they were… where Democrats said that they were called the “N” word which of course would be wrong and inappropriate.  But no one has any record of it.  No witness saw it.  It’s not on camera.  It’s not on audio.  They said that they were spat upon.  No one saw it.  I walked right through the gauntlet of where they were walking through.

There were people for the health care bill…very few.  Most were against.  No one saw it.  There’s a 10 thousand dollar reward right now for anyone who can either produce a witness or a video or an audio.  Don’t you think we would have seen an audio or a video by now if there was something out there.  When I was out there no member of congress could be out there without having a camera in their face or a tape recorder or in their face.  And I Just think we need to call this for what it is.   They want to say that you are the ones that are wrong because you don’t love and appreciate the government takeover of health care.   What do you think about that? That’s right.  I would agree with you.

The president said in his speech …., as you rightly stated, that the saving, supposedly, because, remember, he said he’s gonna spend another 900 billion, which is a gross underestimate of what this will cost; he’s gonna spend 900 billion, but he’s not gonna add one cent to debt.

Cap and Tirade: Bachmann Repeats Falsehood

By Noah Kunin, Senior Political CorrespondentApril 9th, 2009Woodbury, MN
Representative Michele Bachmann (MN-6) is still spreading false information regarding an MIT study on cap and trade.  She held two townhalls today to discuss proposals for a cap and trade program to abet greenhouse gasses.  She was joined by Chris Horner, a lawyer for the Competitive Enterprise Institute.  They gave prepared presentations and only took highly moderated pre-written questions. For us to know if Rep. Bachmann is “willfully lying” vs “unwittingly misrepresenting” we would have to know if she knew the author of the MIT report had spoken out on the subject. Regrettably, Rep. Bachmann refused to speak with all press today.

Election night with the Minnesota GOP: The Michele Bachmann Show

One of the undisputed stars of the Minnesota Republican Party was, and will remain to be, Michele Bachmann. Her penchant for outrageous comments coupled with a hard-right bent has earned her intense scrutiny from the media and strong support from Republican activists.
With the results of her race against DFL and Independent endorsed candidate Elwyn Tinklenberg still in doubt Bachmann entered the ballroom floor relatively early in the evening to talk with a select few members of the media.
Bachmann stopped to talk with former Minnesota Sen. Rudy Boschwitz and conservative talk show host Jason Lewis.
Lewis appeared to suggest that if Bachmann had tied her controversial comments about Barack Obama and some of her congressional coleagues holding “anti-American” views to the KKK and individuals such as the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) and Green Party presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney then more of the public would have understood.
