Common Cause Minnesota announces that it has filed a complaint against the Minnesota Republican Party and its former chairman Tony Sutton for soliciting and accepting an illegal contribution from a corporation.

Based on the findings released by the Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board, Common Cause believes that there is sufficient evidence to proceed with criminal charges against Tony Sutton, the Minnesota Republican Party and the shell corporation that was created – Count Them All Properly, Inc.

This complaint will be filed with the Office and Administrative Hearing and is required before the Ramsey County Attorney can file criminal charges.
