Minnesota Republicans reject a proposal that would have allowed domestic partners the same access to a deceased partners’ medical records as spouses currently have.
Senator Scott Dibble (DFL-Minneapolis) offered it as an amendment to a bill that will allow children of deceased patients access to medical records.
The bill’s author Senator David Brown (R-Becker) initially said he had no opposition to the amendment, but then joined the rest of his party in defeating the amendment 29-36.
