Activist To Candidate: Nekima Levy-Pounds To Run For Minneapolis Mayor

Saying that it is “completely unacceptable” for people in Minneapolis to have to still fight to put food on the table and struggle to find affordable housing, Nekima Levy-Pounds announced today she will run for mayor a post currently held by Betsy Hodges.
Levy-Pounds made her announcement outside the Minneapolis 4th Police Precinct, the same place where she and many others had staged protests a year ago when Jamar Clark was gunned down by police.
